How to Best Control Oily Skin
Oily skin is a result of excessive production of sebum (an oily substance that is naturally produced by skin). As is known to everyone, excess of certain things can be bad for you; excessive sebum is one of those things. It leads to clogging of skin pores, resulting in accumulation of dead cells and hence formation of pimples/acne.
The basic aim of skin care for oily skin is the removal of excessive sebum or oil. However, oily skin care routines should not lead to complete removal of oil. Start with cleansing your skin with the right cleanser. SKY Essentials Tea Tree and Eucalyptus is great for oil skin as it contains willow bark, eucalyptus and yucca, which help control oil and diminish acne. You don’t want to strip your skin of its natural oils. This can lead to an over production of oil which can wreak havoc on your skin leading to more breakouts.
Oily skin needs hydration too. You want to make sure you use a light oil free moisturizer such as SKY Essentials Ultra-Light Hydrating Fluid. It contains cucumber, which is very soothing to the skin. Exfoliation should also be part of your skin care routine. I recommend exfoliating at least once a week using a gentle cream exfoliant. Cream exfoliants that contain papaya or pineapple are great for removing dead skin cells.
As far as the oily skin care products go, you might need to try out a few before you arrive at the one that is suitable for your skin. Make sure your products work for you. With the right products and care, you can keep the shine at under control. Just remember this is an ongoing process and the results do take time.
