Your skin is the largest organ in your body and like all other organs is made up of cells. Skin cells like also made up of water, especially the skin cells in the dermal layer of your skin of your face. Those cells without water do not function well.
The dermal layer of your skin contains a key molecule involved in skin moisture, hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid, a glycosaminonoglycan, has a unique ability to bind and retain water molecules which helps the skin stay moist and healthy. It is a premier hydrating ingredient for all skin types. Hyaluronic acid has the ability replenish moisture in the skin, an exceptionally important factor when it comes to aging skin. As a natural humectant, it not only attracts moisture to the stratum corneum, or the outer layer of the epidermis but also delivers hydration and nutrients to the deeper layers of the skin.
More than half, about 65%, of your skin is comprised of water. Regular and plentiful water consumption can improve the color and texture of your skin by promoting constant cell renewal. As we age, our skin loses its ability to maintain firmness, elasticity, and plumpness. By enhancing moisture content on the inner layers, it improves the look and feel of the outer layers so that they are softer, smoother and radiant.
